Bacon, Blues, & Big Stories Festival
Join us for the first-ever Bacon, Blues & Big Stories Festival with FREE CONCERTS by JONNY LANG and SAMANTHA FISH happening on Oct. 19-20, 2018 at Mahr Park at Hidden Hills Farm in Madisonville, KY! This free, family-friendly festival boasts that it will be ‘a festival good for the taste buds, the ears, and the soul’ and hopes to draw bacon-enthusiasts, blues fans, and performing arts followers from near and far for the celebration.
This event is FREE and open to the public! We hope to see you there!
Plans for the weekend include:
Oct 19 – Performances by blues artists Samantha Fish, Alonzo Pennington & Michael Goff, and others, food vendors, and a beer garden
Oct 20 – Performances by blues artists Jonny Lang, Boscoe France and others, the first performance of professional storyteller Jim Loucks’ newest story that he is currently working on developing during his stay as the first Artist in Residence at Mahr Park, food vendors, beer garden, kayak rentals, a ‘Piglets Party’ just for the kids, a Racin’ Bacon 5k, storytelling performances by other professional storytellers, an after party in the Mahr Park Barn, and much more
“This festival is just another way we’re moving Madisonville forward and improving the quality of life for our citizens, potential citizens, and our visitors,” said Mayor David Jackson. “Bringing in big names like Jonny Lang while still supporting our local favorites like Boscoe France is what makes Madisonville stand out; we put on the big shows but we’ll never lose the small town feel, and that’s what makes us the best town on earth.”
