The mission of the Madisonville Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in our community by working in partnership with the community and in accordance with constitutional rights to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear, and provide for a safe environment. The primary mission Madisonville Police Department personnel is to promote public safety with Integrity, Loyalty, Service and Pride.

OFFICE HOURS:  Weekdays 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:  If you are familiar with Madisonville, we are on the northeast corner of E. Center and N. Franklin Streets, across the street from the Madisonville Fire Station 1, and next to the Hopkins County Judicial Center

Accident Reports

How can I obtain a report? What are the fees? Madisonville Police Department Records will provide reports during regular business hours and payment accepted is only Money Orders or Cash (No Checks).  If the collision or incident happened within the last 7 days, Email us to make sure the report is ready before you come by. Report Fees are as follows:

  • Accident Reports $3.00 Per Report
  • Finger Prints $5.00 Per Card
  • CD (Electronic Media) $3.00 per CD
  • Open Records $0.10 Per Page ($0.15 Double Sided)
  • If you would like your report mailed, please request so sending a self-addressed stamped envelope (including payment) to:

Safe Exchange Zone

The Madisonville Police Department has created a "Safe Exchange Zone" to provide an exchange location for internet purchase exchanges as well as child custody exchanges. The MPD has two marked spaces in our parking lot (99 East Center Street) as well as the lobby area just inside the main entrance to the police department. The parking spaces are marked with signs and special striping (see photos). Also, both areas have video surveillance on them 24 hours a day. A phone with a direct line to Madisonville Hopkins County Central Dispatch is available in the lobby. There are no time restrictions when transactions are to occur, but we prefer transactions take place during daylight hours. You do not have to make an appointment to use the parking lot or lobby for transactions. If manpower is available, people can request an officer check to see if an item has been previously reported stolen. However, the Madisonville Police Department cannot be held liable for guaranteeing an item is not stolen before you purchase it. The burden is on you to make the transaction that is in your best interest. The legal sale of firearms or other weapons is NOT permitted on the police department property. We DO NOT offer any other services with the transactions like notary services, counting or verifying money amounts, checking for fake/counterfeit money, etc. We hope this transaction area will provide a safe alternative for online purchases.
