Frank Stevenson is currently serving his third two-year term on the Madisonville City Council. He serves as the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee Committee and of the Annexation and Zoning Committee of the Council.
Frank came to Madisonville in late 1981 to join the multi-specialty medical group of Trover Clinic as Personnel Director. He continued to serve in health care administration over the next 20 years, becoming Administrator for Clinical Services in 1984, and following the merger of Trover Foundation and the physician practice in 1996, became the Risk Manager for all of Trover Health Systems in 2000.
Since leaving health care administration in early 2002, Frank and his wife Martha have been engaged in a pastoral counseling ministry in the community, operating as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization called Transformation Ministries. He for many years taught at the Teen Challenge Men’s Recovery Center in Dixon, KY, and teaches Anger Management classes at the Hopkins County Jail since 2003. Over the years he has served on the boards of United Way and Door of Hope Pregnancy Care Center, as well as church boards, currently an elder and treasurer at Hanson Baptist Church. He also serves as treasurer of Christian Leadership Development, a mission supporting organization for Desarrollo Cristiano that trains and equips pastors and church leaders across Latin America.
Growing up in Texas, Frank attained a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, beginning his work history in Child Welfare Social Work in Kentucky. He subsequently worked as a couselor at the Morganfield KY Job Corps Center for four years before starting his health care administration career in 1977 at Petersburg IN managing a 134-bed skilled and intermediate care facility.
Frank and his wife Martha married in 1969 and have five children and nine grandchildren.
