City Administrative Officer
The City Administrative Officer assists the Mayor in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating all activities and functions of the City. The City Administrator advises the Mayor on policy formulation regarding problems in the City, and maintains direct relations with department heads on the implementation and administration of programs. The City Administrative Officer is appointed by the Mayor.
Mr. Chuck Shockley was appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council as City Administrative Officer of the City of Madisonville effective October 1, 2014.
Chuck comes to the City of Madisonville with 24 years of service at the Madisonville Police Department. He held various ranks at the department, most recently was Major overseeing the administrative section.
Chuck has a Bachelor's of Independent Studies through Murray State University and graduated from Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville in 2007. Additionally, he graduated in 2008 from FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
