Job Expo Shows Growth
With over 802 jobs available and 50+ employers present, the 2018 Hopkins County Job Expo held on April 24th was one of the most successful career fairs to date.
With the ability to visit various employer booths, check out available local opportunities and even interview on location, the Ballard Convention Center was swarming with individuals from near and far who were looking to explore open positions.
Over 300 job seekers attended the Expo where they were able to meet with large employers like Clark Webstaurant, Groves Construction, Baptist Health Madisonville and Tyson Foods. The fair represented a renewed effort in helping those searching within the community with a helping hand to meet their goals and obtain employment.
“The turnout was great,” said Mayor David Jackson. “It’s a great resource for citizens to be able to personally connect with employers throughout the community to learn more about their respective businesses and become aware of the opportunities within those organizations. Events like this are what help people to find employment closer to home, earn higher pay or simply find the perfect fit. I am happy to see Madisonville continuing to move forward and supporting the citizens that live here and attracting new individuals due to our economic growth throughout the past couple of years.”
