Local First Responders Donate Time

Local first responders have volunteered time to a non-profit organization that provides shoes and socks for underprivileged children.

Starting in 2012, Hopkins County Happy Feet has donated name-brand athletic shoes to thousands of children in the Hopkins County School System.

Representatives from the Madisonville Police Department and Madisonville Fire Department helped to measure children’s feet to identify their preferred style and size.

Happy Feet believes that a new pair of shoes can help to increase a student’s self-esteem, thereby improving their prospective about attending school and allowing them to become better learners.

Thank you to all of our volunteers across the community of Madisonville. The City urges you to consider contributing your personal resources to improving our city through community service and volunteerism.
