vendors wanted

The City of Madisonville has several events throughout the year that provide an opportunity for vendors. Below is a list of upcoming events that we're accepting vendors for. Got a question? It's probably been asked before, so check out the FAQ's below and read through the application. We try our best to give you as much information up front as possible before you commit to an event! FAQ's

Is there a cost to be a vendor?

Usually, but vendor rates are low and even lower for non-profits! Check out the applications to see!

Do I need to have a City of Madisonville Business License to participate?

Yep! If you're located in Madisonville, you probably already have one and might not know it (or you don't have one and definitely need one). Either way, click HERE or call Kathy Knox at 270-824-2100 for more info.

I'm not a business that's located in the City of Madisonville. Do I still need a business license to participate?

Sure do. You will be conducting business in the City of Madisonville during the event, so you'll need to comply with our regulations. Your business would fall under the 'Transient' license that is passing through the city temporarily to do business. Read more about it HERE or call Kathy Knox at 270-824-2100. The license is good for up to one year depending on when you purchase, so if you plan accordingly, one business license purchase should get you through a year's worth of city events.

How early can I set up at an event?

See each vendor application for specific set up times and instructions.

Do you provide the tent, table, chairs, etc. or do we?

You do! Vendors should provide anything they need for set up. You won't have access to electricity, but a quiet-run generator is allowed.

We're selling food... Do we need to pay the restaurant tax?

If you're a for-profit business: yes; you'll need to be in compliance and be up to date with your restaurant tax payments prior to each event. Check that compliance by calling Diane Cardwell at 270-824-2100.

If you're a non-profit: nope! We just ask that you follow the health department regulations with your food prep and serving.

We're selling food... How do we make sure we're in compliance with the health department?

The guidelines are listed in the vendor application. You can also contact the Hopkins Co Health Department at 270-821-5242 if you have further questions.

What happens if the event is cancelled due to weather?

Unfortunately, we can't control the weather. Registration fees are non-refundable for cancellations due to weather or any other event beyond the committee's control.

What happens if I'm not selected as a vendor?

As long as you're in compliance with all parts of the vendor applications and the fee has been paid, your chances of NOT being selected as a vendor are highly unlikely. However, if you're not chosen or not in full compliance, you'll be contacted and your vendor fee will be returned.

What happens if I leave my booth area messy/if I pull my car into the event area to pack up my booth before the specified tear down times (this is SUPER unsafe, by the way)/if I break laws while vending/if I do anything else that obviously makes everyone-else-at-the-event's experience worse?

Plain and simple - you won't be allowed back. These events are for everyone. They're always family-friendly and community based and safety, followed by making sure the majority of people enjoy themselves and want to come back, are our priorities. If you choose to do something that makes meeting these goals harder for us, we'll politely ask you not to return as a vendor.

Your city is doing so many events! How can you afford it?

Because we're The Best Town on Earth, of course! We also put your restaurant tax dollars (aka the 3% tax you pay to eat in TBTOE) to work, we have great community partners, and we've got a whole gang of city employees who work hard making sure we have adequate electricity, lots of lighting, clean parks, safe stages, and plenty of places to get rid of your trash.

What's this 'Madisonville Forward' logo we see around all the events?

In the City of Madisonville, you pay a 3% tax when you eat at our restaurants. Madisonville Forward is the campaign to put YOUR restaurant tax dollars to work! 75% of the tax dollars go towards projects that promote tourism (for example, our new, super cool skatepark on Sugg St, the brand new mini golf course set to open in the summer of 2018, the new playground at Madisonville City Park, and other updates at places like the YAA fields and Elmer Kelley Stadium) and the other 25% of the dollars go towards events that promote tourism (think Friday Night Live, 4thFest, Kidapalooza, and more!).
