It's coming! We're days away from the "Great American Eclipse!"
Madisonville is super-excited to serve as host to the show of a lifetime! To celebrate, we've planned a "Fun in the Sun" weekend for locals and guests alike that we're sure you will enjoy. Madisonville is a quick and easy drive from Henderson, Evansville, Owensboro, Louisville, and all points in-between. What's the city doing to prepare for the large influx of visitors?
ALL City of Madisonville departments are "all hands on deck" preparing for eclipse weekend! We will have all emergency management services (fire, police, EMT's, etc.) located at all city-sponsored events and available in the event of an emergency. Our Public Works department is working diligently to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible, as well as making sure the sanitation schedule is still completed in a timely fashion. We are contacting local businesses to make sure they're prepared for the influx (ie. ordering enough food at groceries and restaurants and making sure ATM's have enough cash). We are doing all that we possibly can to make sure that the Solar MADness weekend is safe, fun, and memorable.
Most importantly, we hope you'll join us in the job of showing our visitors our best southern hospitality!
What if I missed the Solar Seminar held on July 18?
You can find the PowerPoint HERE. Download and let us know if you have any questions!
If you're representing a business, print it out and bring it by City Hall at 67 N Main St and let us know you've read it and are prepared and we'll get your business an "Eclipse-ready business" decal to display during Solar MADness Weekend, FREE OF CHARGE!
